Hapony allows you to livestream your webinars on YouTube, Facebook, Vimeo, or you can use a custom RTMP setting to platforms like Restream.io, enabling you to stream to 30+ destinations, all at the same time.
In this article, we'll cover:
How to live stream a webinar
In your webinar, from the bottom left hand side, click "Live Streaming"
Select the platform on which you want to livestream and enter your stream keys.
βοΈNote: When you start broadcasting live, recording will also automatically start and Hapony won't allow you to stop the recording as it will stop streaming also.
Obtaining stream keys (YouTube, Facebook, Custom RTMP)
YouTube
Go to YouTube Studio
Go live from your YouTube account.
YouTube will provide the stream key information in the "Stream Settings" tab
Streaming to Facebook Pages or Profiles
To livestream to a Facebook Page or Profile, go to the Facebook page you intend to stream to and click the Live option in the post-box. This will open your streaming options where you can copy your Live stream key.
Paste your copied Live stream key into the field in your Hapony session and click Start Stream.
Streaming to Facebook Groups
To livestream to Facebook Groups you will have to as an admin, then follow the custom RTMP instructions below, as you will need to combine the URL and livestream key together.
Custom RTMP
For custom RTMP, you need to add the entire URL, combining the stream key, to the text box. So, for instance, if you are streaming on restream.io, then your URL will look something like this.
rtmp://live.restream.io/live/STREAM_KEY
Managing permissions
By default Hosts and Producers have permissions to manage live streams, however Hapony provides you the option to allow other roles this permission too. For example, you may want a Speaker to be able to start/stop the stream, or you may only want a Host to have control. Be careful with these settings - you want to restrict this permission to a minimum and avoid too many people having control over your live stream!
Go to app.hapony.com and log in to your account.
Choose the webinar that you want to manage your permissions.
Navigate to Settings > Access
Head over to the media tab, and from there, you can configure permissions for the live streaming feature. This will help you ensure only authorised users have access to start live streams.
Happy streaming!
